The market jumped out the gate this morning. SPX topped 1440 and Nasdaq went above 2550. But, soon after lunch, as VIX hit below the $16 support, profit-taking started. On the member site, I said,

Market cheered today as the CPI came in benign with a 0.2% rise. The market rallied up to the daily upper BB (see charts below). But, in the last 2 hours of trading, the market came back down and only ended with some modest gains.

Surprise, surprise! Another volatile day. But, the market stayed in the red all day, starting the day with weakness in the financial sector, as analysts downgraded the investment banks. The Dow slid 65.84 points; SPX gave up 9.63 points; Nasdaq went down 17.3 points.

That was a really nice day! Besides the slowdown in late morning, the market was able to climb higher and higher! The Dow finished up +117.54 points; SPX added +18.1 points; and, Nasdaq gained an even +30.0 points!
