Gold At New Record High! SPX, Nasdaq, GLD, SLV, GOLD, ABX, AEM, PAAS, TSL, STP, YGE, BNI, UNP, CSX

It was a volatile morning while stocks bounced around and experienced fast swings in a tight range.  We got shaken out of a couple of trades in the morning.  But, soon, much attention turned to gold as it rallied to a new record high, trading above $1084/ounce!  Gold surged on news that the Reserve Bank [...]

5-Figure Gain ($$,$$$) On Record Gold!! SPX, Nasdaq, GLD, SLV, AEM, GOLD, ABX, PAAS, BVN

Today, the market was very strong, as the dollar dropped further and the commodity sectors countinued to bounce.  Gold and silver plays broke out higher, as I commented in our Trading Room this morning: October 6, 2009 7:28 AM I slept in today and woke up to a multi-5-figure day!! ($$,$$$) Thanks AEM!!! Gold jumped [...]

Last night, in my article, I said, "We should see some bounces tomorrow.  But, with this sharp downward momentum, we should see a bit more selling before Friday." Indeed, the market was slightly up for most of the day, but, sank to close in the red just before the close.  But, instead of chasing puts, [...]

Gold And Silver Plays Jump! SPX, Nasdaq, RIG, NOV, SLB, GLD, SLV, GDX, AEM, GOOG, DNA

The market gapped up today, but, quickly dove into the red. Bush, in a “symbolic move”, lifted the ban on offshore drilling. This prompted the oil services sector to jump. OIH added +2.28% today, while, among its top holdings, RIG, NOV, and SLB recorded solid gains, +1.75%, +5.38%, and +2.65%, respectively. The financials were yet [...]

Market Forecast for Week of 3/17: SPX, Nasdaq, GLD, SLV, GDX, XAU, FXY, FXB, FXE

With big news (BSC/JPM and Fed’s discount rate cut) on a Sunday before the options expiration week, the market is bound to be very volatile on Monday. Fed’s immediate discount rate cut is, no doubt, an attempt to buffer the effect of the JPM $2/share bailout of BSC! Nikkei (Japan) is down more than 400 [...]

$110 Oil! SPX, Nasdaq, BIDU, GLD, SLV, FXY, FXB, FXE

The market opened strong, continuing from yesterday’s rally. But, it started to fade in late morning, as profit-taking started to kick in (other people/articles might give other reasons). Within the last hour of trading, the profit-taking gained momentum and the market closed in the red. Crude spiked up over $110/barrel today. The Dollar fell further. [...]
