The market started out flat, but, continued to gain strength through out the day. Oil fell again, by more than $5 today. The financials reversed their morning weakness and led the market up straight to the close. XLF jumped +6.48% and closed above $20 (the support level that we’ve been looking at). […]
The market started out cheerfully, with techs leading the way. MSFT today said that it would reopen talks to buy YHOO if a new board is elected. YHOO jumped +12%!! BIDU also did well, adding almost $12. AAPL looked strong as well, gaining almost +3%.

The market was solid today; thanks to a favorable GDP report and declining oil prices. Commodities and energy plays, including the solars, were weak. The market stayed pretty flat ahead of the Fed meeting tomorrow. Commodity related sectors sold off as crude dropped back down to $115 and change. Metals were mostly lower. It seemed that at least some money was rolling into technology sectors, as Nasdaq led the market.

The market was extremely choppy today, perhaps unnerved with the anticipation of the Fed minutes and then uncomforted after the Fed minutes had come out. But certain sectors still showed lots of strength: metals and miners, agriculture, and energy.
