Another Week Of Big Winners! TSL, GLD, ISRG, MON, GOOG

We wrapped up another week of big winners.  Every closed trade was in the GR$$N!  We do have 2 trades that expired, which will be reported in the Monthly Wrap-Up for November.  Record gold was once again the big news, and we captured the trade with options on GLD.  Here are the closed trades this week [...]

Earnings Fail To Excite Market! SPX, Nasdaq, AAPL, TXN, BLK, BTU, YHOO SNDK, CREE, ISRG

Although both AAPL and TXN reported solid earnings yesterday, they were not enough to draw more buyers in, just yet.  The market took a breather as the dollar managed a bounce, which resulted in weakness in the commodity sectors.  AAPL closed below the $200 level, up just +4.69% from yesterday’s close.  TXN barely kept in [...]

Weekly Wrap + Market Forecast + Sector Watch (Part II): SPX, Nasdaq, GLD, USO, XME, XLF, BLK, ISRG, FSLR, AAPL

Last weekend, in my Market Forecast, I wrote: "For the new week, the market seems to be in a consolidation phase.  Both SPX and Nasdaq are displaying a new "bearish" crossover in the MACD.  VIX could test 27 from here.  The 20-day MA will be the initial support for the market indices.  If the 20-day [...]

July Wrap-Up: Another Solid Month!

It feels like July went by in a blink, probably because I was on a vacation mode last week.  Nevertheless, we recorded another solid month.  In addition to the published trades, we also had some big wins on risky earnings plays discussed in the Trading Room.  Here are the trades for the month, with notable [...]

Another Super Week!! Big Profits On BIDU & ISRG!

We had another super week!  The market was so strong that it held its altitude on Friday, even with MSFT missing its earnings estimates.  Here are the closed trades for the week: Pretty much 100% GR$$N again!  We mostly opened the trades on Monday and took our profits throughout the week as the market ramped [...]

Quick Wrap-Up For Thursday: SPX, Nasdaq, ISRG, JOYG, SOHU, EDU, AMZN, MSFT, BIDU, GS, FSLR, SPWRA, TSL, YGE, STP

I have guests visiting starting tonight.  So, I’ll do a quick wrap-up.  The market started out strong and finished stronger.  In the morning, both home sales and unemployment numbers were seen as favorable to the economy.  Stocks charged higher and higher.  Commodity related sectors came back up today.  GS led the financials higher, adding $5, [...]

Earnings, Earnings, And More Earnings! SPX, Nasdaq, MS, WFC, GS, QCOM, EBAY, VMW, ISRG, EDU, AMZN, DECK, MSFT, BIDU

Financials were weak to start as MS posted a $1.2 billion quarterly loss and WFC, although reporting better-than-expected results, spooked investors with continuing loan problems.  MS ended the day flat and WFC lost 3.55%.  Financials got stronger during the day.  GS closed in the green as it redeemed the outstanding warrants the US government received through [...]

Market Jumps Above Recent Trading Range: SPX, Nasdaq, BIDU, AMZN, DO, ISRG, BNI, X, FCX, ATI

The market continued where it left off last Friday and continued higher today!  Right out of the gate, better-than-expected economic data, including manufacturing, consumer spending and construction spending, encouraged investors to work more sidelined money back into the stock market.  Techs were especially strong, led by the semicondutors (mentioned last night in my Sector Watch).  [...]

Market Ends Lower In Volatile Trading: SPX, Nasdaq, GS, INTC, DNDN, ISRG, EBAY

from MyHappyTrading.com by HappyTrading! ™ Sign up for FREE membership! It was a very volatile day.  The market started lower with unfavorable retail data in the morning.  Selling pressure was on GS as it sold $5 billion of stock to repay federal loans.  Other financials got dragged lower as well.  Oil services were among the [...]
