The market made further gains this week, in accordance with the Market Forecast last weekend: "For the new week, we’ll once again look to see if the market indices can catch up with the daily upper BB.  Once there, the market should be able to sail higher.  The immediate resistances are still SPX 1200 and Nasdaq 2300.  [...]

9/17/10 Weekly Wrap: GOOG, GS, GOLD, CME

The market made further gains this week, in accordance with my Market Forecast (which we will review tomorrow + new forecast for next week).  However, I’m a little cautious about the weakness in the energy and mining (except for gold, of course) sectors.  Nevertheless, we cashed out on some profits and here are the closed trades [...]

Weekly Wrap 9/10/2010: RIG, WYNN, GOLD

The market consolidated during the first couple of days of the week and resumed higher.  Major market indices finished slightly up for the week.  We were basically in the waiting mode to start the week and finally cashed out some winners today.  We got into RIG yesterday as it was trying to break out.  RIG [...]

Last weekend, in my Market Forecast, I wrote, "For the new week, the technicals are still carrying a bias to the downside.  The M&A activities and the speculations for them are offsetting the inconsistency in the latest economic reports.  The M&A activities are bringing buyers into some sectors.  However, the industrials have been weak on [...]

Last weekend, in my Market Forecast, I forecasted, "For the new week, the latest development in the charts are certainly not bullish.  However, it may not necessarily dictate a breakdown.  If SPX 1080 does not hold, the next support is 1060, set back in mid-July.  The market could still be range-bound, and, is very mixed." As [...]

On Tuesday, in my evening article, I said, "There is some resistance at 36 for VIX.  We may see shorts start to cover some positions before Friday’s unemployment report.  Profit-taking happens on the downside, too!  There’s a lot of focus on the SPX 1040.  If that does not hold, the next soft support is SPX [...]

Last weekend, in my Market Forecast, I wrote: "For the new week, things may be a bit tricky.  First of all, it’s options expiration week, so some "maneuvers" are to be expected.  The market is definitely trying to draw a bottom.  But, after charging higher 2 days in a row, we may see some indecisiveness [...]
