The market has been struggling to push higher, and yet, it has been gliding up.  Today, the Dow finally managed to close above 13,000.  No big deal, right?  Perhaps not.  There were big winners, as well as big losers today.  APOL was down more than 16% after giving weak Q1 guidance.  ESI also got knocked [...]

Happy Oscar night! Last weekend, in my Market Forecast, I wrote: "For the new week, the market still looks healthy, although it might need a quick, little pullback.  The market has support at SPX 1340, although dip-buyers might not wait for 1340 to come in.  If the broader market can hold its altitude, we could [...]

Market Hangs On! SPX, Nasdaq, MA, V, GS, C, NFLX, DELL, HPQ, ADI, CYMI, FNSR

After testing SPX 1350 for about 2 weeks, the market pushed above 1360 yesterday, getting to a intraday high of 1367.76.  But, today, the market struggled to find a direction.  Still, dip-buyers kept buying the dips.  This market would not  succumb to the temptation of profit-taking.  Techs and financials were weak today.  CYMI was down [...]

During these past couple of days, the market kept seeing light profit-taking in the morning, but, dip-buyers kept on driving the market back up in the afternoon.  AAPL has been the big story this week, making new highs every day.  It went as high as $496.75 today and closed at $493.17.  $500 is seemingly unavoidable!  [...]

The market has basically been flat for the past couple of days, consolidating in a tight range.  Still, there were many big movers driven by earnings or other news.  We picked a couple of big plays.  One was CSTR.  Yesterday morning, CSTR announced that it chalked up an agreement with VZ to provide streaming video.  [...]
