This morning, the market opened up sharply, almost completely erasing yesterday’s loss, as the Fed announced further plans to deal with credit problems. But, the big gains quickly faded.
Yesterday, I said, “The market now could slide further to test the 20-day MA (the cyan line). On the other hand, this quick drop might give […]
December 11, 2007 – 5:10 pm
Well, the market didn’t get what it wanted from the Fed, who lowered the federal funds rate by only one-quarter percentage. Immediately after the rate announcement, the market dropped sharply and continued the slide all the way to the close. The Dow ended down almost 300 points; SPX stumbled 38.31 points; and Nasdaq […]

Here’s how the market closed:
HGX (housing) jumped another +2.66%, while XLF stayed strong also, adding +2.12%. […]

XLF (financials)
We talked about XLF last weekend and are still watching it closely. We were looking at the resistance at $31.5. XLF tested that resistance this past week, but, didn’t close above it. However, the 10-day MA has moved above the 20-day MA and both have turned up. So, again, we’ll […]
December 8, 2007 – 6:54 pm
Last weekend, in my Market Forecast, I said, “So, the market is looking healthier. For the new week, if the market continues to rally above the 30-day MA, we could see the above mentioned resistance range tested. It’ll be very interesting to see how the market positions itself before the next Fed meeting, which is […]

What a “Happy” day!! This morning I was looking for SPX to top 1500 and Nasdaq to go above 2700; both of which materialized. We also made good profits on WFR, looking for $80+! Lots of trading going on: POT, WFR, GOOG, AAPL, FWLT, CMED, MA, GS, and much more… […]
December 5, 2007 – 6:49 pm
Yesterday, in my evening post, I said of SPX, “We’ll need to see some upwards movements soon to start turning the 20-day MA,” and of Nasdaq, “We’ll need to see Nasdaq close above the 20-day MA to feel more bullish.” Well, the market responded with both of those signals today (will discuss more later).
