XLF (financials)
XLF is looking more and more interesting. Its daily MAs are now in a bullish formation with 10- above 20- above 30-day MA. The MACD has moved into the positive territory. I still like GS and MA. MA has been lagging, but, perhaps more of a reason to watch it, […]

Last weekend, I said, “For the new week, I’m looking for the market to catch up with the daily upper BB. Once it catches it, we should see the daily upper BB open up, allowing more upwards movement. During the mid-week, the market may need some time to breathe.”
On Monday, the market was cautious before […]

Well, like I said this weekend, “During the mid-week, the market may need some time to breathe.” Yesterday, we saw some of the profit-taking in late morning. Today, we saw some more. But, the market really held up pretty well. The Dow was down just 48.86 points; SPX gave up 10.28 […]

The market continued where it left off yesterday. Although some profit-taking started in late morning, the market was able to close strong. The Dow added +76.17 points; SPX gained +9.25; and, Nasdaq finished up +14.82 points!
We cashed in more profits this morning and did some quick daytrades:
SINA Oct 45 calls, NOQJI, […]

It was a “cautious” day for most. The techs, however, were a bit weaker than the broader market. The Dow slid 39.10 points. SPX gave up just 7.60 points. But, Nasdaq went down 20.52.
Here’s how the market closed:
INX2 (Internets) continued to be strong. But, both SOX (semiconductors) and BTK (biotechs) […]

With the FOMC meeting on Tuesday, one of the most important sectors to watch is perhaps the financials.
XLF (financials)
XLF was strong at the end of the week last week. It is now just 2 cents below 34, and sitting above the daily MAs. The daily MAs are curving up and the MACD is […]

Last weekend, I said, “For the new week, I think we’ll see a volatile beginning, especially on Monday. The overall market does still have the 10-day MA above the 30-day MA. But, like I said earlier, we’ll need to see the market bounce pretty soon to get above the daily MAs to keep this recovery […]
