Weekly Wrap!

I’m going to start a new post series, called “Weekly Wrap!” Every weekend, I will try to find time to write a quick post on the trades (Happy Trades!!) made during the week. This way, I can do a quick review on how my published trades go each week, make discussions on anything special, and take mental notes on any trades that are still open.

Well, as I posted at Friday’s close, we had a great week! All, 100%, of the closed trades were profitable! There are several trades opened during this week that didn’t get closed:

LVS Sept 105 calls, LVSIA, at $2.9 (open)
Friday close: $3.5; unrealized gain/loss: +21%

AAPL Sept 130 calls, APVIE, at $7.5 (open, partially out)
Friday close: $8.78; unrealized gain/loss: +17%

NVDA Sept 47.5 calls, UVAIW, at $2.85 (open)
Friday close: $2.6; unrealized gain/loss: -8.8%

NMX Sept 135 calls, NMXIG, at $3.8 (open)
Friday close: $3.1; unrealized gain/loss: -18.4%

SPWR Sept 65 calls, QSUIM, at $4.3 (open)
Friday close: $3.1; unrealized gain/loss: -32.2%

I have already taken partial profits on AAPL. WYNN went up over +6% on Friday, while LVS only went up +1.85%. LVS is in a position to challenge its recent high of $110, set on 8/9. NVDA still looks good and has a 3-for-2 split coming on 9/11. NMX is buyout play, as the company confirmed that merger talks are in progress. SPWR has been under some pressure (well, the whole sector has been pretty volatile lately), even though the company has confirmed 2008 outlook. SPWR has been defending the support at $62.7. The daily chart is a little weak, but, its weekly chart is still in an uptrend.

I received a wonderful letter in the email this morning from one of our members:

Hi Happy,

I just wanted to let you know how much my son and I have benefited from you
site. Raising a child alone, as a single parent, can be economically challenging to say
the least.
Some of us have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet.
Your site has provided that 2nd source of income for me.
I am proud to say that my son Cameron is an “A” student, all-Star baseball
player and has a great christian character and sense of humor.
Your site and members have allowed me the opportunity to devote the time
necessary for continued development of a truly wonderful caring child.
Many thanks, to you, Jared, and all members for their contributions.

Thanks, again

Thank you, marketquest! I had no idea that my blog can be touching people this way. The members are really creating a great trading community. And, the members’ board is alive with lots of great comments (216 comments on Friday)! People are definitely working together to share information and ideas. Your message really made me think and shift my focus. I feel honored to host such a place for people to interact and hope to bring more and more financial freedom to all the members!

Here are some snapshots of Friday’s actions on the members’ board:
